About Virtual Soda
Hi, I’m Karin—the brains, heart, and occasional typo behind Virtual Soda.
With over 25 years in sales, product development, and marketing, I’ve done the rounds across industries, ideas, and acronyms. I spent a solid decade in destination marketing and tourism product development before trading boardrooms for bassinets with the arrival of baby number one.
That pivot launched Calm to Conniption, a parenting and lifestyle blog that grew a loyal audience and eventually birthed (pun intended) The Mummy Soul Sessions podcast, part of the Jackrabbit FM network by McAlary Media. Baby number two joined the crew, followed (surprise!) by baby number three—and somewhere between nap schedules and snack negotiations, I began offering digital marketing support to the incredible network I’d built along the way.
In 2021, my family made a sea-change to Broome, WA, where I dove back into tourism and worked alongside tradespeople servicing local resorts—plumbers, sparkies, fridge whisperers—you name it. That experience gave me a real appreciation for boots-on-the-ground businesses.
Fast forward to 2025, and I’ve returned to my marketing roots, this time with Virtual Soda: a business built to support small, regional, and trade-based businesses with a bubbly mix of digital smarts and straight-talking support.
I’m a tech lover (borderline geek), and the rise of AI gets me genuinely jazzed. I upskill regularly to stay on the cutting edge—because your marketing deserves tools that work with you, not just at you.
Virtual Soda is the cherry on top of my layered career sundae, and I love nothing more than helping down-to-earth people bring their business dreams to life with a little strategy, a little sparkle, and a lot of heart.
